On April 5, 2008, the Florida Department of Transportation gave Federal Transit Administrator James Simpson a tour of the proposed Central Florida Commuter Rail Transit Corridor. Following the tour, Administrator Simpson met with local officials from each of the 17 jurisdictions hosting station stops. Below, please find a link to the most recent station prototypes under consideration by local funding partners in Volusia, Seminole, Orange and Osceola counties, as well as the city of Orlando.
Station Prototypes -- April 2008
On November 28, 2007, the Florida Department of Transportation hosted a Central Florida Commuter Rail "Station Workshop". The workshop was attended by local government officials representing jurisdictions that currently plan to host one of 17 stations along the planned 61.5 mile Commuter Rail route. It's important to note that the designs presented in the presentation below still are in the "conceptual" phase of development. As the project moves into the Final Design phase of planning next year, station designs will be refined, and additional information will be posted on the project website, at www.cfrail.com. Please click below to get an idea of some of the station design concepts that are currently under review.
